Q.1 What is Cernach Housing Association? Cernach is a non-profit making Housing Organisation whose prime aim is to provide good quality affordable housing for people who live in or wish to live in Drumchapel.
Q.2 Where is Cernach's Office? Our New Office is at the corner of Airgold Drive and Kinfauns Avenue.
Q.3 How long has Cernach Housing Association Limited been in existence?
The Association has been operating in the Kingsridge Cleddans area of Drumchapel since July 1991.
Q.4 What is a Housing Association?
A Housing Association is a social landlord in much the same way as a Local Authority. Housing Associations are monitored by Communities Scotland and tenants have a real say in how their rent money is spent. All monies collected in rents are used to meet the costs of managing and maintaining the houses in good repair and providing for the future
Q.5 Are you a private landlord? NO - The tenants collectively own the houses. Cernach Housing Association exists
for the benefit of its tenants. We do not trade for profit.
Q.6 Who runs Cernach?
Cernach Housing Association is controlled by a Voluntary Management Committee of 15 members who are elected annually from within its membership of tenants and local residents. Staff are employed by the Committee to deal with the day-to-day running of the Organisation however the policy and investment decisions are made by the Management Committee
