The Tenant Participation group of Cernach, known as CHANGE, thought it would be good for the Community and the Association to give younger members of the Association a say in what's going on in the area and to get to know each other better.

CHANGE thought the best way to do this was to give 8 - 15 year olds their own group to be known as YOUNG CHANGE.

Our initial meeting took place during February 2004 and of the 17 children that turned up 15 of them completed membership forms and are now fully paid up members of YOUNG CHANGE. During the spring we had some competitions to design Anti-litter and Anti-Vandalism Posters and discovered some great artists.

We held our first outing during the Easter Break to the Mega Bowl in Clydebank ; the outing was funded by Local Contractor A & M Heating and was a great success.

During this summer we have had 2 trips, the first one on 2 July was a trip to McDonalds and then to the Cinema to see SHREK 2. Magnus Electrical, another Local Contractor, funded this. The second outing was a visit to Mugdock Country Park in Milngavie where the Park Ranger Service took us on a trip into Mugdock wood for 2 hours, where we learned lots about wildlife and mini-beasts and built shelters from twigs and bracken and heard lots of stories about the wood.

Future plans include a 'Clean-up our area Campaign' on Saturday 21 August to be sponsored by Drumchapel Community Safety Forum and hopefully during the September holiday weekend a visit to Loudoun Castle near Kilmarnock .
